Exhaust

I just purchased a 93 f-350 crewcab dually. It has one monster, constrictive looking cat on it, and I was wondering what all is involved with removing the cat. I live in ks with no emissions. The reason why I ask such a stupid question is when I put the off road x pipe on my cobra it trigged the check engine light. Will having no cat on this do the same? And then I was wanting to put true duals on it, do I need two cats? Thanks for your help.

What engine are you running? I honestly don't know about your emmisions laws up there, but if it is legal there an exhaust shop might be able to cut the cat out and weld in straight piping. Here you would have to cut it out yourself if you wanted a shop to put anything in its place. I cleaned out the cat on my truck and never threw a code, but who's to say yours won't. If it does you could always use a set of MIL eliminators, as could your Cobra. And yes, if you go true duals, you'll need two cats if you plan on continuing running them.

It has a 460, and ks has no testing for emissions. And I was wanting to put all new exhaust on, that wasnt to clear on my part. And I have an exhaust shop that will bend anything as long as you pay for it, lol. But it looks really restrictive, and hangs too low for my tastes, thanks for your help.
