any ideas about how to run the wires and conceal the connections?
Get an automotive grade 12v 30 amp switch at your local radio shack. Make sure you fuse protect it, and run your wires inside split loom tubing, or tape them up....

The thing to do is put a club on it, one that attaches to the brake pedal is better than the steering wheel. They saw the newer steerings wheels through with a hacksaw in about 15 seconds, while in the car, and pull the club right off. A brake pedal club requires more work outside the car with the door open.

Then either a disabled electronic starter lock or the best is a hydraulic brake lock. The car is not going anywhere with four locked brakes unless they tow it or cut the brake lines.

Another way is to turn your truck in to a push-button start. You still need the key to turn it on, but you must press the button. Locate the button under your seat....Wait a minute, forget I said that....

If your current vehicle has PATS I dont see how it can be stolen unless you leave a key under the mat.

For you pre-air bag guys, you ever see the double take on a thiefs face when he sees you have no steering wheel? It's a picture perfect moment!! HEE HEE! It's not a laughing matter though.... It all depends on the value you place on your rig. If I could spend 2,500 dollars on a wheel LOCK, I'd buy one in a minute. So now that I have an air bag on my steering wheel and have to leave it on, I still have a few options. I can render it useless by removing the battery or a tire every night. NAW... I could Chain and lock it to a tree or another vehicle. NAW... I've just decided what I'm going to do. I'm going to have a quick coupler made up with a magnetic cap so I can remove my shift lever. He/she cant get it into gear with out it, so I think I'm ok. Or I may install a battery cut-off switch and put it in the tail-light or license plate light, removing the key of course. There's more to come.... Talk with you guys later....

I installed a second 130db siren inside the cab of my truck. I have it rigged to go off if the alarm is disconnected. Trust me it hurts inside the cab when it goes off. I am also going to get one of thsoe break locks. If my alarm goes off it kills power to the starter and fuel pump. The only way to reset the relays is a secret. Now if I could only figure out how to get the electric shock to work......

I have an ignition kill switch, that has a keypad with a code. Say, if I trty to turn the key, it's setup to blow my horn, which sets off the alarm.

I also have that autolock-pro that goes around your brake and locks. If they do steal the truck, they won't be able to brake at all.

And of course, I bought the thickest chain to wrap my hood shut, and a solid deadbolt lock.

Groundrat, I know what you're talking about. My hubby has one of those alarms that mounts inside the car. It states anyone in the car, longer than a certain time with the door shut, could suffer from ear damage.

I'm a big fan of a fuel-pump shutoff if you have an electric fuel pump and a carb - The oblivious thief gets it started and thinks he's home free... BUT there is just enough gas in the float bowls to get it out of the parking space before it croaks. At that point it's way too consipuous for him to sit there and try to figure out why it won't start again, so hopefully he walks away. I do it in loo of the starter disable that most alarms come with - with Ford's solenoid on the firewall all it takes is a screwdriver to bypass that.. and a piece of wire with aligator clips on the ends to bypass an ignition disable on early trucks for that matter (although installing both of those anyway will tend to slow them down, which is what you are after anyway...)

A nice loud siren inside the car like Bigblu describes tends to rattle a thugs nerves too... anything you can do to slow down their thought process!

Groundrat... I used to work at an Office Park and the sirens were mounted inside as well. When they went off, I could barely walk around, let alone think! You're a sick man.... COOL!

I do remember a few years back there was a company that had a Silent Alarm, but would PAGE you when it was activated. I guess too many criminals were getting their _ _ _ kicked, before the police were called. You know, the right's of criminals.... and ALL.

Electric-shock huh? My luck is I'd false-alarm it and zap myself...

My sister bought one of those zapper personal protection thingies... and proceded to use it on herself just to "make sure it worked".

Maybe I shouldn't admit she's my sister...
