Just picked up a set of 33x12.5x16.5 8 lug rims and tires. Traded my edge programmer for them. Tires aren't bad. Rims are in nice shape. My question is, I found some tires on militaryoffroadtires.com they were 37s, as far as I know my truck doesn't have any lift on it. (It has 285x75x16s now I believe) how big can I go before we start talking lifts and such? This is all in the planning stage and I'm not sure I'm even going to do anything but I'm just humoring the idea. I'm totally new to lifts and such. Just wondering! Thanks guys!
i have the goodyears on now.... had them on a 93 with 4in of lift... my truck now is 6 in the front 8 in the rear... and i love it and to me it looks right with them 37
It depends on what you are willing to do to make them fit.
These are not etched in stone, but a good approximation of what will fit on a stock F250
285s bone stock(may need bumper shimming/trimming)
33/12.50/16.5 Bumper trimming/shimming
35/12.50/16.5 Heavy bumper trimming, shimming
37/12.50/16.5 Heavy bumper trimming/shimming and cut out flares... Or at least 4" of lift
Looks like I have a slight lift. About a 2in level kit. There is a block in the back. I do see what your saying about bumper shims. My 285s just clear the front bumper on my truck right now.
What kind of lift kits are there for our trucks? I think I may need new leafs in the front. They are actually bowed opposite of the leafs in the back. I don't know if a guy could re-arch them or if you would just have to buy new ones.
Im unsure when you will start to have rub issues on the leafs.
IIRC the f350s came with a 2" block in the rear. I know that cuz now mine has a 4" block
Unsure if the 250s had a block like you mention factory or not.
Ill have to try it and see. I'm most concerned with clearance in the front. specifically the tire and the bumper. I may just flip the tires and rims but I thought maybe I'd try em out first. who knows. Wasn't expecting to pick up another set of rims, but it did get my wheels turning about getting a lift.

I may be wrong but I think the fronts should have slight reverse curve to them.
On my 88 I had 315/75/16's and they fit with the bumper off, stock suspension. Slight rubbing at full turn.
My 97 fits 315/75/16's with my aftermarket bumper and an add-a-leaf. Slight rubbing at full turn.
Stock f350 had a 4" block and f250 had a 2" block in the rear.
To me on a 250 leveling kit and 285 looks good and in a 350 leveling kit and 315 with bumper shimmed slightly

It must be stock then, cause there isn't much if any in the front. and the 285's barley clear the front bumper now. 33's might be pushing it. Maybe I'll wait till I have all the stuff to do it right.
Mine has the same wheels and 33's on it. No rubbing or issues and no lift. I think the bumper is stock too and I can't see any shims. My springs are sagging though - the shock measures 18" hole to hole and I think it is supposed to be like 20 or 22. I did read a thread on here a while ago with someone putting those military tires on and he said he had more room than people are guessing. You might search around about a month ago and see what pops up.
