I'm always towing various trailers of questionable quality and there is nothing but constant troubles with the trailer lights. They are the wrong plug, they don't work, the dog chewed them off, whatever. Last month I rented a box truck, and along with the standard trailer light plugs, it also had a little box you could open. Inside were 4 binding posts to just directly hook up the lights. Genius! Where can I buy such a thing?

I can't tell from your description what you are needing.
If I had more info like a name or a picture then I wouldnt need to ask. Do you know what binding posts are? I want those, for trailer lights.
What more can I say?
Double edged sword here.
You don't know so you ask questions.
Others don't understand so they try and help but can't "see" what you are thinking/asking.
In this case, Steve asks because he's only trying to help and you get frustrated.
Just another day here at FTE.
None of us have ever tried to not help with answers but sometimes...
Steve is one of the most helpful, experienced, and respectful people out here, only trying to help.
Glad to see you answered your own question.
My thoughts. First, I appreciate prior comments and am of the opinion the positives apply to nearly everyone on FTE. There are darn few negative exchanges, which I like.
The earlier exchange took place in the early morning hours, probably not the ideal time as folks can be tired and frayed. Electronic communiques are also easy to misinterpret.
My old Tennessee grannie had a lot of sayings, some of which apply to politeness. She used to say to me "Sonny (she called me Sonny), no one is ever going to mistake you for Einstein, but if you are polite, you just might be able to confuse em for a while!"
