Its a 78 F150 4x4 reg cab long bed. I'm installing a 6in suspension lift and I was wondering as to whether or not I'm going to have to change the pinion angle on either of the axles?
Short answer, yes.
The front will probably need to be corrected using caster bushings to correct the caster angle.
The rear will have to be rotated up to correct driveline angles. Angle shims can be used in the rear but I prefer to move the spring perches.
You can order both the rear shims and front caster bushings and install with basic tools, no welder required. lol Moving the spring perches will require a welder....
Do not forget a trac bar drop bracket or a adjustable trac bar, either will work. And are you going to use a drop pitman arm and get longer brake lines?
Yup they come with the kit, I was just going to get a moog trac bar. I want to put dual steering stabilizers on it, but I can't find a trac bar that had the connections for it.
Ask the lift manufacture, I am sure they have that answer in their tech dept. 6" lift maybe like 7 degrees on the front is something I remember reading somewhere, I am WAGing it. WAG='s wild **** guess, lol
Is the Moog trac bar adjustable? I am not a 1/2 front end lift kinda guy, but I understand that a drop pitman arm, trac bar drop bracket and a adjustable trac bar is the set up to use.
