Dual Exhaust??
Dual Exhaust??
Has anyone ever put a dual exhaust on an Aerostar? What's the best way to do this? Should I get a muffler with dual outlets, or would it be easier/better to just split the exhaust pipe as it comes over the axle? I'm going to finish it off with 3.5" chrome pipes.
Dual Exhaust??
I know a guy who knows a guy who helped him put duals on a 1995 sport .
They took it to another friend who makes headers down in southern cali... got some custom headers made for it and then he bought new catalytic converters and two flowmaster mufflers, topped off by 2 1/2 inch chrome pipes straight out the bac of the van. to do this real dual set-up on it they had to put an h pipe on it after the headers for the O2 sensor or something..
Obviously that was an expensive job, since there was custom fabrication invoved, and also it is a real dual exhaust set-up and not just a muffler with to outlets on it. He also spent big on the high flow cats and the two flowmaster mufflers.. but it sure sounds good... and believe it or nto it still meets california emmisons standards so he can still drive it!!!
In your case I would get a muffler with dual outlets and then get pipes bent to fit just how you want. The chrome tips will look really good on it.. I put a cheapy on my single exhaust and it looks really good, really sets the van off nicely. with the flowmaster on it it sounds nice too! we welded all of the pipes to avoid leaks, most of the noise goes straight out the back...
