Engine ping on E450 Super duty

Engine ping on E450 Super duty
I am having 2 problems with my motorhome and wondered if anyone had suggestions as to what might be wrong.
1.Has to turn over a while after used and then attempt to restart. Had problem earlier this summer and plugs were replaced and the number 8 coil was bad.
2. Hear a pinging sound in engine or tranny under load going up a hill with cruise on. Don't hear it when it downshifts. Could the timing be off or do these trucks and transmissions generate some noise in cab. Noise is not loud.
