Any ideas on a front sway bar retrofit for a 53 F-100 with a stock straight axle? I have a fat one from a mid 90s explorer but not the right width. Has anyone had any luck with a retrofit from another vehicle? I know there are kits for this but I'm trying to avoid to many "kits" and save cost. I am using reverse eye springs and removed 4 leaves from the spring pack. The explorer bar will almost work but I will have some interference with the shocks.

i used a gtx/roadrunner sway bar on my 64 f100. had to modify the ends some. mounted the sway bar on the axle and the end links to the body/frame...

 

Midfifty sells one that is a snap to install. Drill a couple holes and bolt it up.
