I always noticed that the crew cabs sit a bit higher then the super cabs. Our 02 F250 crew cab 4x4 V10 auto we could literally sit the tailgate on perfectly over our 02 F250 4x4 super cab V10 auto when we traded it in. And it was on level ground. Did you notice that?

Glad you like the way I set up my dash,I had fun doing it a lot of work though running the wires and making it as clean as possible. Yes you can get those switches personally engraved, about 7 of them were personally engraved for me and the rest he had. Starting from left to right. Where the old stock head light switch use to be, didn't like the stock one plus it was broken. Head Lights, Running Lights, Instrument Lights, Dimmer switch from a Peterbilt. On the other side by the steering column, Engine Start, Ignition, Engine Brake, Heated Mirrors The ignition on my column broke and Ford wanted way to much money to fix and wanted the truck for way to long so I came with the idea of making a push button start. I do not have an engine brake yet but its all pre wired for one. Other side of the dash by the 12V power supply is Passenger Eject, more or less for fun. Red LED's under the seat will light up. For F-650 dash kit, Fog Lights, Driving Lights, Off-Road Lights, Reverse Lights, Load Lights, Dome Lights, Rock Lights under the truck I used 4 work lights with rubber backing cheepos. Fuel Pump for the 90 gallon tank in the bed. Air Compressor for the three trumpet air chime train horn, and hopefully air ride seats.

scotty with everything like that it looks like it would be harder to grab the floor shifter or is that just the angle of your pic. By the way I like the look of that.

There is just enough room to get your hand on the shifter without smacking the dash each time, 1 1/2 inches from the highest point of the 4wd shifter (Neutral position) to the bottom of the dash. They also make a manual version of the F-650. I think its a little cleaner but not enough room for what I wanted. Ya. I drove a 04 6.0 version of what I bought and everything was lower. The new truck sits right about the same as the old one and I like that. Its the main reason a lift isnt high on my priority list.

That is an impressive wiring effor and it shows. I like it a lot Did you happen to draw up a schematic for all of that? lol

The new truck is fantastic. I didn't get a chance to snap any photos today, but my gf saw it for the first time and she was impressed. She drove it tnoight and did great in forward, but backed over our trsh can parking it. The backup sensors did not alert her the she was going to hit it. Then she proceeded to try and back firther over it because she had no idea. It was all rather funny me

Taking it on a trip to Dayton for the weekend. Can't wait to get it out on the open road and set the cruise.

sounds like fun. Yesterday I did have a problem once getting into this thread but I just refreshed the page and no problems but I don't get on at night. Ya the diesels are lower because of more weight I thought you noticed a difference also in cab size height. Oh well maybe it was just our old 02 sagging a bit as it was pretty beat up and all.

Same here, had problems logging in. I did make up some wiring schematics that I will post along with the fuse/relay box and all the plugs and connectors that I used and where I bough them from. I'll try and show you in detail of the install, may take a little time as we have a bunch of birthdays this week, not mine thank god!!
That's not a bad price. I paid $58.80 for the dash and $16 for the shipping from Horizon Truck Center in Seattle Washington as they were closer to me for a better shipping rate.

Fast is not a word I'd use to describe it. I think smooth is a better word. It's definately got the power for it, but it woul be better suited with 4.10s. I'm going to try an free a few more ponys up in it, but I can't complain. I just can't get over how smooth it rides. It's the most comfortable thing I think Ove ever driven!

So after taking the truck on a 500 mile trip this weekend, I absolutely love it. Its smooth quiet and comfortable and drives like a dream. We averaged 14mpg out to Ohio and 16mpg coming back

On the way home I was going through the glove box and found the original VHS tape that came for info on the 7.3L and the ESOF. I also found Ford's sales brochure on their truck and van lineup for 2002. It was all pretty neat. I did find out that the Lariat has the premium stereo package with an external amplifier which I was happy to learn.

I also noticed that it has trailer connectors, but no receiver. I'll probably add one in the not too distant future. I also found the pigtail for the brake controller in the original plastic in the dash. I am fairly certain that this was never used for towing...

If I can get out of work before it gets dark, I am going to try and snap some good photos of it as a base line before it goes in to Ziebart for the coatings.

 

If you are going to be towing with it the first couple of times it may not tow the best if it has for sure never towed before. I know our 02 F250 never towed before and it took a while before it started pulling great. Just some advice.

Thanks. I heard the transmission will have to adapt to the added load. I don't have any intentions of pulling a trailer at the moment, but I like to have the option if necessary. More than anything, I want the hitch as a solid rear anchor point. I pulled several people out of the snow last winter and I had to do it all in reverse because I didn't have any attachment points to my receiver. I have a D ring to use, but it does in a 2" receiver.

 

I decided to post a few parts for sale. If they go, I can use the cash for other parts. If not, oh well. No harm no fowl... lol

So my buddy stopped over last night to change his oil at my house. Good excuse to relax and drink some beers. He was telling me that the last time his oil was done was 4800 miles ago at Jiffy Lube. He drained his oil and when I slid the pan out, there was less than 2 qts in the oil pan. His 2007 Camry takes 4.5 qts. It has less than 100000 miles on it and it does not smoke. He had another person change his oil a while back and the same comment was made about almost no oil coming out when drained. He had it done at Jiffy Lube the time before that too.

Anyway, we're are thinking that the $20 oil special at Jiffy Lube is cheap because they only put enough oil in to meet low level in the oil pan. I don't know if this is just at the location near us or every where, but be warned if you use them for oil changes.
