Help! My '92' Sport has a major overheating problem . It was about 64 degrees in Seattle today and the temp as measured by an infrared thermometer read 225 degrees. Since this problem started last summer I have done the following:
Replaced the thermostat (3 times)
Flushed the system (4 times)
Replaced the radiator
Replaced the water pump
Replaced the fan and fan clutch
Replaced the temp sending unit
Just had the heads rebuilt. ( they were not cracked or warped)
Vacuum check shows no exhaust restriction
I'm getting desperate enough to take it to a Ford dealer but am
hoping someone out there has an idea on what else could be
causing this problem. I'm open to any suggestions so if you have any pleeeaase respond.
This may sound completely obvious, and not worth looking at, but it happens. Have you tried blowing out the AC condenser fins with air? You may be blocking airflow to your heat exchangers.
I see you've flushed your cooling system 4 times. Why? Just to be sure? Or is the coolant contaminated? Do you smell coolant at all when you are driving?
