I have a 1969 f100 sport custom that I am starting to restore. The truck has been in the family since new. It has 302 ci and 3 speed on column, manual drum brakes, manual steering. I have the front suspension from a crown vic that I am planning to put in it and would also like to put a 5 speed trans and fuel injected 4.6. My dilemma is that the truck is all original right now and I wonder if I will be messing up my modding it. I want to be able to drive the truck a lot and it will never be for sale but I also can't decide if I am ruining the truck by not putting it back stock. Any advice or opinion would be appreciated.
These trucks are far from Rare. It's yours do with it what you want . personally I like the restmod , looks factory correct but mechanics are upgraded .

I'm with Mike on this one.
Build it the way you want it and drive the snot out of it. I'm doing nearly the same thing to my 67 but using a Mustang 5.0 instead.
