While my engine is getting built..I started a zf5 swap, saginaw install and potentially a maf swap. I searched and didn't not find my scenario so I hope you dont mind me asking.
I removed the maf engine harness, engine bay harness, intake box with tube and eec off of a 95 f-150 with a 4rw70. My question is being that I am doing a zf5 swap what repining needs to be done to the 4rw70 harness? will this harness still work for the intended maf swap?
not sure that you will need to do much of anything. the zf is a manual trans while the 4r70w is a computer controlled auto trans. I suspect the harness will work just fine.
unless of course you can find an 94 bronco, with a 5.0 running MAF. this was the first year making the harness a little more plug n play. regardless the computers will throw a no trans detected code, engine should still run correctly. a computer tune could possibly turn that stuff off as well.
Would I be able to use on of these cams with the parts I currently have? If so would the 35-349-8 be the best choice? What I would like to do is not have to go back into the engine again.
Those Extreme Energy cams are going to push engine fueling requirements well beyond what the stock EFI and fuel systems can cope with so like it or not I think you're better off not doing a cam at this time. The truck will need MAF, larger injectors and fuel pump/s and a tuner once the cam is changed.
P.S. DesktopDyno says this motor will make 275-280hp with the stock cam which is gonna stretch the stock injectors for all they're worth, but it's a 400hp motor with the 35-349-8.
