Rear end options...

Well its getting closer and closer for the 400 to find its way into my 96 or a crew cab. I was set on going 8 lug but to cut some of the weight I have been throwing around the idea of leaving it 5lug. This thing will be at most be hauling a ranger bodied full size framed off road toy.
For 8 lug brake options found out the econolines kept the old bolt pattern. Would a 9.75 from a say 05 e150 5.4 swap under the older trucks? Or just go with my 10.25? The 400 is making much more torque than the 351w last thing I want to deal with is breaking drive line. I appreciate it.

Thank you
Curtis
