SD Air Filters
Anyone know what the difference is between the Motorcraft FA1632 and FA1634 air filters? 2003 owners manual calls for FA1634, but FA1632 is what was in the truck, and thats what Ford wants to sell me. Thanks.

My owner's manual called for FA-1634 and the O.E. was the same. But my Ford dealer parts sold me FA-1632 when I replaced it. I don't know what the differance is beside the number. It works fine.

FA 1634 air filter
I have noticed a couple of threads regarding the FA 1634 air filter that the owner's manual calls for (my application is a 2000 Excursion with the 6.8 v10), but I have not yet found an answer to the dilemma that Ford wants to sell the FA 1632 (F5OZ*9601*BA) or more recently, in my case, the FA 1697 (YC3Z*9601*AA) air filter. The 1632 and 1697 look alike as far as that goes. Is there any more information that someone is aware of?

It could possibly be an updated or replacement part number.
Either way, use the most up to date part number that is for
your application. This will ensure that you are possibly getting
a better design over the old original part number.
