I have done research on the board to determine the correct colors for my 52 and have answered most questions but still have a few. figured those that have been around along time (not saying your old or anything ) could answer them for me.
Truck was and is meadow green. Did they make two tone trucks? I've seen many but don't think it's original.
In 52 grills were sungate ivory and running boards chassis black?
What color were the wheels? I have a brochure that shows red but the truck in the photo is also red.
The dash is exterior color with a argent silver inset?
5 star extra cabs had silver vinyl seats with a maroon outer band?
Would like to put the exterior back as close as possible to original but since Ford used so many different colors on the same truck I was not sure how they put the combinations together. Thanks for the help.
Sorry I don't have an answer for you but since I have a 52 that was originally Meadow Green I am most interested in what you find out. Mine isn't anywhere near the repaint phase so I haven't looked into it that much but would like to go back original.
Truck was and is meadow green. Did they make two tone trucks? Only 48-50 Mercury trucks were two-tone from the factory, usually with black fenders.
In 52 grills were sungate ivory and running boards chassis black? Yes (more like a Wimbledone White, I think) and Yes.
What color were the wheels? I have a brochure that shows red but the truck in the photo is also red. Should be body color.
The dash is exterior color with a argent silver inset? Yes
5 star extra cabs had silver vinyl seats with a maroon outer band? Yes

I have the Salesman's Handbook for '52, but don't have the color page scanned into Photobucket. And I'm about 2000 miles from my scanner right now. Going off the top of my head the available colors were Meadow Green, Vermilion Red, Sheridan Blue, Woodsmoke Gray, a tan color that I don't recall the name of, Raven Black, and primer if specified for later application of a fleet color. I agree that the only original trucks I recall seeing with black fenders and contrasting body color were Merc's. On half tons the wheels were body color, larger models black. Sungate Ivory is I believe correct for the grille. Wimbledon White is too white imho. Does that cover it? Stu
Edit - running boards on all but the panel trucks were black. Body color on panels if I remember correctly. The interior panels on 51/52 were gray as opposed to the earlier brown. The Five Star Extra seat fabric was gray with deep red accents. Nowhere have I found that documented. The headliner on the Extra trim package was a perforated material that I don't think I've seen anywhere being reproduced. If Chuck or one of the others knows of that being available I'm gonna need some too. Stu
Thank you both. That is exactly what I was looking for. I do have some original documentation that said seats were grey and red. I will scan it and put it in a new post to help others.
I pulled apart a 51 F2 with the Extra package. It had a perforated interior door trim panel that matched the headliner color and material. This truck was stock and original as can be.
