Speaking of spooky, just started this book about my old nightmare 'redrum', Jack, Winnie, and Danny Torrence and the Overlook. Movie was ok, but the book knocked my socks off back in the 80s. This sequel is worth the late nights...
"Doctor Sleep" only $10 on iTunes vs $40 hardcover.
well, picked up a used 4r100 transmission out of a 99 f350 diesel with apparently a "triple disk converter" for 220 bux from Craigslist Friday. it has been on the floor of his garage for about 5 yrs as a a spare to his other superdutys.... was told it was working and had been rebuilt, but do not know who rebuilt it.... then when i went to get it, the seller remembered that reverse may not work, but drive did.
so i bought it figured if anything i have a core to give away if need be. some more thought and a good idea from a mechanic friend of mine, he suggested to call a transmission shop and ask them what they may charge to tear it down and "take a looksie".
called one local wrench shop who says they do transmissions and guy said "sure bring it by ill open it up for $160 and see whats the mater".... still waiting for AAMCO to call me back and see what they quote for a tear down.
fingers crossed something simple? have at least a fully drivable truck? will see....
and since you guys are such picture hounds
anyone know the part numbers for the bolts to hold the transfer cast adapter to transmission case?
truthfully i would have no idea what the hell i was doing.... may or may not notice whats wrong. also trying to find a space in the garage is a challenge.
ultimately i would just love to spend the 4500 dollars and let john wood deal with it, but i cant seem to hit that goal..... i hate construction sometimes.
Now that's a project Justin! Wonder what they would charge me after starting the job, getting stuck and dropping off a pile of tranny pieces.... Used to was a 4 are Hunderd!
took a little walk around the property, (about an acre) this morning looking at things, seeing what needs attention around the area and found a penny in the dirt. 1938.... kinda cool, keep it with the small shoebox of other items that are of interest to me.
