Are you replacing the OEM with another OEM, or aftermarket? A harness is all that should be needed. Also, if you're installing an aftermarket, you do know you have to solder or crimp the wires on the harness to the matching ones on the HU? Unless you have one of the upper level Alpines, there shouldn't be any extra wiring necessary when putting in a new HU.
One more thing, is the stock stereo system "standard" or one of Ford's premium systems?
