Howdy Tim. Not too bad. Did go to the eye doc yesterday. Said everything was good with no real changes at all. My prescription hasn't changed at all and is very stable. Also renewed my contact lense prescription as well. Just have to call back on monday to finalize it so I can order my next batch of contacts. How are you doing Tim?

MAybe Tim. Have never really considered it before. It took me a long time to even get to the point of getting contacts. And I know how the boring days can be.

I'll say something to him, and see what we can do.
Good
had a decent day on the 'Sploder.
Turns out someone was in there before, had a felpro gasket on the side that had a problem.
The other side still had the fomoco gasket , so I assume that head has been there from the beginning
My guess, the shop that did the work changed the head gasket, and put the cracked head back on. It took a while to erode the new head gasket
I put 2 aftermarket heads on it, so we should be in good shape for as long as I have the truck
Not finished yet, I'm not as fast as I used to be.

Looks good so far Charlie. Good thing you caught the crack before something more serious happened. We had a pontiac station wagon that had the head crack in 4 places because of the poor thermostat design.cracked right in between the valves over each cylinder. Lucky it didnt hydrolock the engine.

You can see in the picture where I'm pointing at the gasket. The head right above is washed in that same area look at where the wet carbon starts, there is a washed area. You can't see the crack, but it's there.
I may take a electric magnet and put it on the head, and dust it with Iron powder just to see how big the crack is..... That is if I get inspired.......
