Harleymsn has a very good point regarding not paying too much attention to online color blots. In the digital world, there is a vast array of tones rendered by different systems, monitors, etc. for the same color. I ran across this when looking at swatches for Meadow Green. Didn't look anything like green. However, photos of restored trucks were rendered much better, and more accurately depicted the actual color.
Are we using house paint on the truck? What paint should we get?
It can't be latex. Rust will be an issue. finish will be an issue. What about top coat.
I need Tucson Tan for my body touch up.
Not to continue this "argument" but when I removed the stainless steel trim the color (based on looking at color swatches on-line) was a great deal closer to a cream color then than the Tuscan Tan swatch on-line.
It's automotive paint, the Ford code is 14227, the PPG code is 20384. call a few of your local parts stores, there are several that mix it for you. Some will even do rattle cans of the mix.
Do not trust online colors it's not as much the swatches as your monitor I spent untold hours looking though HOK speed shapes and decided on the one I liked , my laptop was in for repairs and I used the desktop which we use a Toshiba led tv for a monitor . I had to change my choice
I have a Sherwin Williams Automotive paint store, but they can't seem to figure out the paint???
I gave them every number I have.
Including a DuPont code, PPG, the ford 14227 (which I was told was too long)...

Thank you.
What's wrong with latex house paint? I painted my old Falcon in it and yes I did use a roller. And you know what? It looked like I painted it with a roller, and yes the bare spots underneath did rust. But it was easy to clean off when it came time to repaint. PSST, don't tell the wife why we didn't have enough paint to finish the family room.
I have not been able to find the Ford Tucson tan paint anywhere.
All websites I've searched don't even show it as a color used.
Local automotive paint shops have no cross reference for it.

What do you suggest. I need only a quart, for touch up. And I'd like to have some around, not to have to trash it since it's mixed.
Thank you.
This is the quart. If you plan to spray it you will need to mix it with reducer, if you plan to brush it, you can use it they way it is.
