Just bragging. I drove 180 miles round trip to pick up a complete 61 223 engine. According to PO, "it ran well but smoked". The carb is either very clean or practically new. The manifolds are fine, no cracks. I gave $100 for it plus maybe used $40 in gas and 4 hours.

I am not sure if I should rebuild it now and store it or wait until my current engine gets weak (it is running fine now). If I wait, the seals will be fresher but I may be too old to rebuild one, I guess I can always micro mangage a kid doing the rebuild.

Nice score! I think i would wait on the rebuild, but you might want to buy the parts while they are still available and a decent price.

Depends if you want to drop it right in when the other fails or wait for rebuild.
