Have you ever thought about med school? Even if a domestic program is not a practical reality, there may be other avenues including foreign programs such as those in Grenada. I believe you also explored options available to you through the US military. My primary care physician also participates in Search-and-Rescue programs locally. She lives in Porter Ranch so it must be close by.
I am glad your reference to Bakersfield as being lucrative was a reference to something other than money. If you decide to move there, I can call upon a handful of business colleagues to show you some areas you might want to consider.
Frazier Park is nice but there will be times in the winter when you will not be able to get through - not because your truck won't make it but because the CHP will have closed the roads. Given that reality, you might need to ask yourself how tolerant your new employer might be to you missing work due to weather/commute issues.
I like the idea of going north but that puts you further away from friends and family in Ventura.
Best of luck whatever you choose.

I got an interview offer from Hall today. Scheduled for Thursday. I'm going to get a suit. I've never worn a suit to an interview before, but as Hall has a reputation for being very proud it cant hurt. They have denied people their second round interview for not wearing a tie before.
Dont know what my living arrangements will be if I get a job there, but I have time to figure that out. I put Dec, 18th as my first day I can work because the 17th is my last scheduled day to work at Ventura College. My lease here in Ventura is up in February so if I get it I will be commuting or something for at least 2 months.
My dad did offer me housing for free in Visalia.
It will be nice to be able to tell them to update my application to reflect my promotion.
Also time to update the 'ol resume and bring a copy a long.

Congrats on the interview! Don't forget to think about what questions they might ask, and practice having answers for them - it can really make your interview a lot better when you already know the answer before they ask the question
I personally can't stand having a long commute, it really eats into your lifestyle - not to mention it can be expensive. I can justify living in Santa Monica, because it costs me $6 in gas each week (on my motorbike).

Made the trip up and back today. It went well, one trip with the trailer. Took pretty much all day but thats okay. Returning the trailer tomorrow, grabbing my pup, the fridge and headed back up north for good.. I start work Tuesday.
My house is empty, no longer a home. Tonight I am sleeping on the floor in my room here in Ventura in a sleeping bad. No complaints though. Tomorrow will be my first night in Visalia as my new home.
