For those of you with the trip computer, when does you low fuel light in the instrument cluster light? Mine seems to wait until the trip computer says there is only 15 miles left on the current tank of gas. That seems a bit low even though the miles to empty does start flashing at 50 miles left.
No I didn't run out of gas =)

I wouldn't trust my low fuel light. In my 02, it would come on and I would still have almost 6 gallons left. In my 03, it came on for the first time and I filled up. I was shocked to see that I had .6 (yep, you saw the decimal) of one gallon left. A little to close.

Yeah I still had quite a bit of fuel left actually it hadn't even reached the red mark on the fuel gauge I always assumed that the trip computer was tied in with the gauges and would have thought it would light the low fuel light way before 15 miles estimated left till empty.

Well as you can see the computer only estimates the mileage to empty based upon I guess your AVG mpg at fill up. I just towed my trailer 250 miles. When I filled up before the trip the computer est a full tank at 385 mile to empty. I refilled right after towing getting 10.3 mpg and now a fill up only gives 287 miles to empty. Let the gas gauge touch the red line and then fill up or just when the GET GAS NOW!! light comes on. but fill up quick in case the light and the computer get together to see how well you can push..
