When I did some powder coating on the rear end of my '57, I did the third member separately from the housing just because of how the project was going. I didn't decide consciously, but I did the third member in semi-gloss and the housing in gloss (black.) Looks fine to me, it's not intended to b a show truck.
Well it's time to do some other stuff, like the core support, and I need to decide which to choose.
A.) Is there a compelling reason to use semi-gloss versus gloss from a performance/maintenance standpoint?
B.) Your opinion - Would the core support look better gloss, semi, or flat black, or the color of the truck (Dark blue for the truck, chrome grille)? Are there example pictures out there?
Gloss black for under parts looks nice when new, but doesn't look good if it gets dirty with road scum. Flat looks better with age, just my opinion. If its going to be a driver, I'd go with flat.
