I'm in the process of looking for some extras for my truck and I was hoping to get some opinions.
Right now I want to find out what the consensus is on the Banks Power modifications for a v10 (Powerpack with Ottomind). Are they a good product or do you recommend other systems?
I went with the Banks on my last truck. This time I have checked out a bunch of other sites. Be sure to check out the motorhaven with Ken. If anybody will give you the straight it will be Ken. I'm not really sure about the gas stuff. I'm more into the deisel.
Honestly, you'll probably get more bang for your buck by going with other aftermarket items. The Banks stuff is good, but you pay way too much for what you get. Two of my buddies have PowerStrokes...one with a Stinger Plus system from Banks, and one with different parts he pieced together. The Stinger Plus is a strong kit, but my other friends truck will eat his alive, and he paid a lot less. Just my .02 cents.

Banks does make some good stuff. I have heard of some issues not bolting on just perfectly but he did get it straightened out. If you've got the cash I would recommend them. BUT, I would go w/ a custom burned Diablo Delta insted of the Ottomind. Again, i have seen others dump the Ottomind to go w/ the Diablo. Do your homework. The last two posts gave some great advice! Although I did have to send the custom Diablo back for some minor tweakin, when It was dialed in you could just hear and feel the engine bearing down. W/ no chip it just has no pick-up and go! My motto, "good things come to those who wait"! But don't wait too long. The headers i bought for $575 are now over $900. Good luck!

The Powerpack is top-notch. Fit perfectly and had the best instructions I've ever seen with an aftermarket system. However, I'd go with a chip/tuner from Superchips or Diablo instead of the Ottomind.

What it was was the guy had gotten the headers w/ the female fitting insteasd of the male fitting on the left side of the engine. Probably ordered wrong!
NoMoooo, its the fitting on the left side of the engine second tube from the front. When I was ordering mine I had to specify male or female fitting. This may be just specific for 99's though.
