Fuel system trouble

I have an 87 Bronco, 302, auto. One of the problems listed on here matches mine pretty close, but im gonna ask anyway. I went to go to work the other morning and it started and ran for about 5 seconds and died. I have spark, but when i push the relief valve on the fuel rail, it just oozes a little gas out. I thought it was the fuel pump so i replaced it. Still wont start. According to the problem i read, it sounds possible like the regulator has gone bad. When i hold the relief valve open and have someone turn on the key, it shoots gas out like it should until the relays click, then hardly anything comes out. Think its the fuel pressure regulator?

Fuel system trouble

Try replacing the fuel filter first. I believe it is cheaper anyway. If memory serves there should be about 40-60 PSI at the fuel rail which should squirt fuel pretty hard when its released. I could have the pressure range wrong but I know it will do a lot more than just dribble. If the problem persists after replacing the fuel filter then move on to the regulator. The regulator is vacuum controlled so check the vacuum line going to it as well.
