Will do. Now when you said grounded the tailights etc to the bed then to the frame I just need to run a ground wire from the taillight/running light socket or just the bezel?

The light fixture has two bolts out the back they are the ground you need clean metal contact through out the rest of the circuit to ground (frame rail that neg bat connects to)use no-ox at connections

Could we see some pictures? Here is how.

But I got ta say becoming a supporter is the fastest and easiest way to post pics right from
your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

That wire that is bare on the end is attached the the running lights and I can't seem to figure out where it goes. Same with that blue one with a purple/red stripe.

The blue with red stripe is usually for the dash lights, the ones that light the gauges.

Up at the gauges there is one just like that thats disconnected. Is it possible that my truck doesn't have that feature?

No, they all come with dash lights. What do you mean by disconnected? It should probably be connected to the one hanging from your switch. Unless someone disconnected it for some reason like a short or the headlight switch rheostat is bad. Why don't you get a wiring diagram?

At the gauge cluster, all the plugs are filled by wires, but this one is just left hanging and it doesn't look as if it was ever plugged in. I know thats not a real problem in the whole scheme of things, as my generator light comes on and I know for a fact that the battery doesn't charge.

Alright I replaced the switch for the headlights and the running lights and found that the black wire next to the red wire is the picture above is faulty. By jiggling that wire the running lights will flash on and off when the switch is activated.

I believe the black wire is the one that goes to the tail lights?

It lights up the tail lights and the running lights when I get it to receive power. The socket at the switch is faulty so I will have to solder something up that will make it work. I also don't have a rear left blinker or blinkers when my head lights are on for some reason but I believe I'm closer to finding the issue.
