I've been vicariously enjoying the build threads of others' mid-fifties trucks and thought it was time to join the fray.
1955 F100 with a 239 and 3 on the tree. Bought in April of 2012 from a farmer in SW Ohio who had given up his dream of a rebuild. Keeping it stock, down to the Sea Sprite green paint and 6V. Engine and tranny are complete, frame and axles underway. Not looking forward to the bodywork!
way to go. I think a torkey 6 with a 3 on the tree would be very cool but my 54 is way beyond that. I'm still plodding thru the body work but hope to be doing more mechanic work this summer, like shocks all around, limited slip rear, and start building a very torkey v8. Good luck on your build and keep us updated.
I actually taped a picture of your truck to the door, so my wife could see the future of the rust bucket!
Thanks, appreciate that. I worked for 1-1/2 yrs 4-6 hrs every day to finish it after having it 25 yrs. Except for body/paint & motor overhaul did all myself in the drive of my condo. The neighbors were not happy, but. who cares! Keep going.
