Ok,I have been trying to help a friend out. And have a few questions. Its a 1937 truck that someone started to restore,but never finished. The running gear is a 2000 ford 3.0 V-6 auto. With the complete orginal wireing harness and computer.
It has a problem starting. I think its in the key It has a aftermarket one in it now,not the orginal one.Which I think its the anti-theft system that was controled by the orginal factory key keeping it from starting, I found a box under the dash. It has XL2T-19A475_AA Pats control and bracket assembly SWK4855F Ford written on it. Its also running just about the stock 3.0 single Exhaust on it. Which includes 3 sensors 2 catalac converters and a muffler all on a single exhaust, Which he wants to completely remove everything and dual it out,with only 2 mufflers. I was also told that this computer had to be program,a chip can not be added to this unit. Maybe I need to get the factory computer reprogramed, So this stuff can be removed. Whats the cost on something like this. While its out,we may want to add a few horses to it. and get a firmer shift in the trans. Any ideas ???

Whoever told you that a chip can't be added to the computer is wrong. ALL EEC-V computers are chippable. Basically, all we need is the ECU code and a complete custom sheet filled out.
