Thanks for the kit#. I'll stop by fastenal tomorrow and see what they have, but they are usually the most expensive out there. They always seem to have what your looking for though.

Another thing I'm looking for is the oil dipstick tube Ford part# E1TZ-6754-B

So, I went out in the garage this morning and....two puddles. One was power steering fluid, one of the hose clamps weren't tight. The other was coolant toward the back of the motor. I first saw that the freeze plug was leaking a little and then saw a stain on and around the head bolt. It looks like it's coming from the exhaust port.

Is this a head gasket problem?

It almost seems like it's leaking from around the bolt and then running along the bottom of the header flange. I didn't replace the head gaskets and now it might bite me in the...should I maybe try to tighten the head bolts and see if that stops the leak or is the head gasket no good?

You reused the head gasket? That's a no no. They compress and shouldn't be reused.

That seems to be too high to be coming from a head gasket if you ask me.

I was thinking that the gasket broke between the coolant passage and the bolt hole and is now coming up the bolt hole in the head and seeping out

You think maybe intake gasket?

I think I did say that I changed all the gaskets earlier in the thread, but I did skip the head gaskets. If I pulled the heads it would escalate and I would've been doing the heads, cam, crank, pistons......

I worry more about cracked heads than leaking gaskets... but it's too uncertain at this point; it LOOKS LIKE it's coming from the bolt but logic says it can't be coming from there unless something is broken inside.

So, they only way to tell is to remove the heads? Right? A lot of work undone.

It's not your valve covers leaking is it?

I'm afraid not. If I take the heads off and they need to be replaced, what else do I have to replace?

I'm with Matthew. That looks like an oil film rather than coolant, and that could be due to the valve cover gasket leaking. How did you put them on? And did you straighten the valve cover first?

If the exhaust is leaking, do you think the carbon in the exhaust is sticking to the coolant and driving to look like that? I don't know.

If it's oil and the puddle of coolant is from the freeze plug only, I think I still have a head gasket issue because there doesn't seem to be any oil leaking from the valve covers. Could oil be working its way up the bolt and coming out? I never checked the torque of the head bolts.

I haven't run it longer then a minute or two, due to the fact I don't have a dip stick tube, and the resistor situation. I tried to hook up a resistor and the motor would not fire. If I run it with the module power hooked up to the battery side of the solenoid, like I've been doing, will it put to much strain on the module and fry it?
