hello, i have a 1997 7.3 and pull a 10k toyhauler with and am not impressed on towing uphill at all!!it has a 5 speed with 4:10 gears, tymar intake, 6 position chip,3 inch drop pipe with the cat deleted, new glowplugs, new fuel pump bowl lines and filter. i am impressed with the power not under load but geez when towing the trailer this thing is a pig. my buddy last weekend made a joke out of this thing with his duramax blazing by me on hills??i have heard the map sensor can be the culprite. so from what i have searched just unplugging it and if there is a difference it is bad is what i am getting however will it be noticable without a load?i bought this thing for towing specific and am highly disappointed so any help will be much appreciated...dont make me trade her in on a duramax.
unfortunately no gauges yet as everything has gone to keep pig running.i have ts performance chip, when local diesel shop put on down pipe they looked for leaks and said everythings tight...
Your not going to get any arguments from anybody here that these trucks are pigs stock. Keep reading and you can turn yours into a good hauler. Darin and I both pull 16K trailers in good shape.
I had there tunes. They suck. I bet it you were to put you truck on a AE to see live data you'll see a bunch if thing that not right. Like WOT being around 65% of the go pedal. Your HPO being limited. IPR being limited to around 45% dc just for starters. Them moving WOT is a trick to give you that WOW factor making you think you have a lot more power. And if you had a EGT gauge you'd see that temp are really high.
