I have a 05 cc 6.0 and add stanadyne performance with every fill up. I'm comfortable with the product. Another family member wanting to be helpful added an ounce of PRI-D to a full tank after I already used the stanadyne. I noticed a little more black smoke when I put my foot on the gas as the turbo kicks in after the fill up and started asking questions. I'm hoping I'm not going to have a problem from the two additives in the tank at the same time. It does start up a little quicker and quieter though....
I'm just concerned about the extra discharge and any possible damage down the road.
I have never heard of PRI-D, so I looked it up. I see it is an emulsifier, meaning it will absorb water into itself and into the fuel. This is not what you want in your Powerstroke. So for that reason I would not use the stuff.
Having said that, I don't think one treatment will be harmful, and I certainly don't think mixing it with Stanydyne is a problem. So I would just burn off the fuel. And next time tell them not to add anything to your tank.
Thank you for the quick response. I'm hitting the pedal hard to burn through the stuff as quickly as possible. I'm not sure what I'll do with the Pri-d at this point. I may try storing some diesel or something. Thanks again.
