Need Help Quick!! Keyless Entry Broke.

Hello!

I have the Keyless Entry on my truck. A little explanation.....I have two sets of keys I carry on my key chain....my pickup and our 2000 Merc Mounty. To put these in my pocket sucks. So ever since I've owned the pickup, since new, I've always just tossed the keys on the floor and locked it up. Just using the factory code to unlock the door. No other code programmed.

Last Friday after work I used the code and got in and drove to the local Brewery for a few+ pints of Scottish Ale....strong stuff:D Locked it up as usual. Went to go home and the keyless entry didn't work. The dome light turned on as always but still wouldn't unlock. My buddy drove me home and I grabbed the ol'lady's key. The key fob on her chain to unlock the door worked fine. After I got my keys my key fob door clicker worked fine also. I don't have a clue what happened. Keyless entry still doesn't work. Tried reprogramming and still don't work.

My dilema is.....I have a Diablo Chip and my warranty for the pickup is over in about three weeks!

1. I would like the dealer to fix it on warranty.....do I gotta take the chip out first?

2. Does anyone know what happened or how I could fix it myself?

3. Should I take off the battery cable for an hour or so and try again?

Any help would really be appreciated. Like I say, my warranty is due to expire soon.

Thanks,

My understanding is that FORD is very fleixble with the factory warranty, and as long as the modification you made had nothing to do with the breakage, then you shouldn't have a problem.

I have no clue what happened with your keyless entry not working, sounds pretty weird.

Either the module or keypad went bad; unfortunately, this happens a lot on the 150. It's most likely the keypad. The Diablo chip has nothing to do with the keypad, so don't sweat it. If you were having a drivability issue, that would be a different story. They could blame that on the chip, if they wanted, and who are you to argue?

I believe if you enter the wrong code 3 times it disables the system. The owner's manual gives the details. I think the only solution is a trip to the dealer.

I have Diablo chip and took my truck to the dealer multiple times, under warranty, for the same issue. The first couple of times I just pulled the chip (disconnect the battery first, but it's not necessary to pull the computer out as you did with the initial install). After the 1st two times I got tired of pulling it out so I left it in there. They either didn't notice or didn't care.

Thanks Guys.....I've got a call into the dealer for an appointment. I'm not going to worry about the chip.....I'll post what they found out.
