I have searched past threads, but I have not figured out my rear tank size yet.
The truck is a 1995 351 4x4 Supercab Shortbed wheelbase 138.8 (139). The owner's manual did not have my exact truck for tank capacities. The only listing for a 138.8 wheelbase was a 4x2 F-150 Supercab, and capacities are 16.5 Front, 18.2 Rear.
When I nearly emptied the front, I was able to pump in 16, but when I emptied the rear (truck started to stutter), I was only able to pump in 16.8.
Any thoughts? Or is 16.8 close enough to 18.2 for the rear?
There is only one possibility for the size of the rear tank - 18.2 gallons. I suspect your rear tank pump simply isn't able to get the last gallon and a half.
I've got 2 trucks and can put 16-almost 20 in my rear tank depending on weather conditions AND the stores tank gauge. Sometimes I wonder how I get 20 into an 18 gallon tank? Next tank I'll empty it and have to click the pump to top it off and get 17 gallons in it. There's lots of variables but I know the tank is the same size. Although they seem to expand with age or is it just the price of gas? My full size bed trucks 1990 &1997 haxe 18 gallon back and 19 gallon front.
