We absolutely love it... The summers do take some getting used to, but there is 12 months of boating. And the fishing is un-freakin-real. This year I got my first boat landed Cobia and Tarpon...and was no more than 5 miles from the dock behind my house. A few days before christmas we slammed Redfish and I was wearing a t-shirt. Everybody put the fear in me about the cost of living going way up moving from NC to FL...never happened. Going to no state income tax was even better. You can't throw a stone without hitting 2 foreclosures, which makes for some great deals. I've just found the state to be so much better managed...not perfect, but better.
