EEEEEEK!!!!!!! $50k for the X!!!! at least 8 years ago. wonder what they would be going for if they were still being produced? I feel better that I paid $19k for mine when it was 2 1/2 years old with 17k miles on it.

Almost $100K, I'd bet closer to $80K-$90K

Still have mine...with the $53k sticker price. Funny thing is it was sold through a small Mom & Pop dealer in NC that sells only Ford trucks and maybe has max 6-8 on their lot at any time. It was traded back in there and when I went to buy it the salesman's exact words were, "here's the keys...drive it...take it home...I don't care but it's been here 3 months and needs to go away because I can't sell those beasts here!"

I got ours when they were flying off the dealership lot in Feb. 2000. Had a heck of a time negotiating a better price. Gas was a buck fifty and we headed across country that year for spring break. Was my wife's daily driver till about 80k when steering got sloppy. I gentlemanly stepped in and took over from there.

Smiling ever since.
