Question Adding a Spring Leaf ?

I am going to replace a couple of broken leaf springs. The shop that is going to do it says I should add an extra leaf when doing the job. My question is, if I do that, will it negatively impact the ride of the truck?

I only occasionally carry heavy loads (some soil, lumber or mulch) so I don't see the value of the extra leaf springs. What should I do?

Adding a Spring Leaf ?

Red, I added an extra leaf to a 7000 lb van and noticed no difference in the ride. But I have heard people with lighter rigs complaining about ride quality. Don't know how much that LWB F100 of yours might weigh. I guess I would decide to add it, to avoid the risk of having to replace those springs later-- especially if I did much driving on bad dirt roads, or towing.
