Kdss performs significantly better than most stock and many modified trucks.

As an example

A Stock F150 FX4 has an articulation score of 324

An F150 with lift and 35" tires has an articulation score of 451

A modified 2012 Jeep with lift, tires and swaybar removed scored 626

A factory stock Land cruiser with KDSS blows them both away with a score of 647

So standard struts are great for people that drive on the highway and dirtroads, but take it anywhere serious and you find yourself unable to negotiate obstacles. - but as you said, its more of an issue when things break and they can be very expensive and requires special tools and training, both of which I dont have.

Like I said, I'm sure it performs great, and it looks like it does. How many people do you see off-roading in a $75,000 Land Cruiser, though??

There are 4 of us in an offroading group here in Idaho, we all have trail damage but they never get stuck. But yeah, most in the US are mall crawlers unfortunately. I use my toys and dont really care if they get banged up a bit since they still make paint and can be fixed.

Devin: Sleep...what's that when you have a 4 year old in the house already.

My husband has a Lexus LX470 that he's turning into an expeditionary rig. We've been off road a few times in it and it has it's fair share of bumps and bruises. It's really comfortable inside which makes for some nice trips.

Awesome. I loved my LX470, wish I could have kept it but I needed more towing capacity. Is there a build thread somewhere? I'd love to follow it.
