so every now and again my truck will stop drawing fuel. crank the motor and sit for 30 seconds and it draws again... any ideas?

Might need a fuel pump... Could have a hole inside that let's the line drain back..
And you need to refill the line to start it

changed the lift pump last year(the only one) and it actually happened while driving once

Try replacing the fuel line between the pump and carb..
Maybe there is a small crack or it is collapsing and not allowing enough fuel through
Also make sure all clamps are tight on fuel lines

Could be pulling in air from the fuel return lines. It runs between the injectors. Pretty much just fuel grade rubber hose. Had that issue on the old ambo we had. Had to replace the rubber fuel lines between injectors and the orings.
