Quick & Temporary...
Ok, I know that what I am going to ask isn't the proper way to do it, however I have to do something... Here goes, '78 F100, bed pretty rough but not beyond repair, cab corners - gone, and some other surface rust...my objective is to figure out a way to clean/coat/prime the rusted areas so that the rusting process is inhibited and/or slowed down long enough for me to get to the point where I can get the bodywork done correctly and get the truck painted...any help or suggestions? Oh, and the cheaper...the easier it'll be for me to get it done

Thanks,
Rick
First off, remember you have to do this on both sides. If you don't, you will be doing it again in a month.
A wire brush you can attach to your drill or die grinder. Wire brush the snot out of it. When you are done, you will discover you have more holes in the metal than you thought. By the way, wire brush far enough to reach clean metal.
Spray on rust converter. Rust Mort, Metal Ready (which I prefer), etc. This might take care of some rust you couldn't get to.
Spray on 3 coats of Zero Rust. Some people swear Por-15 is the way to go. I disagree. I'm seen tests and Rust Rust wins hands down. Besides being what I think is a superior product, it is a whole easier to use since it comes in rattle cans. Oh yeah, it's cheaper too.
