Its been a while since i been on glad its still here though. So my old truck decided to run away or at least attempt before i kept shutting her down. so i decided to trade it for a 93 7.3 from my cousin. When he had gotten it he got it from a dealer **** as a consignment deal. The previous owners burned up the old wiring harness and went threw it with speaker wire to remove all the melted previous. So i tore that out and got a wiring harness out of a 96 idi and put that in. Got everything working again cept the ignition and the dash lights dont turn on half the time the blinkers dont work and well, every time i turn the key on the brake lights come on bright as day and when i hit the brakes they dont work they just stay bright. im confused as **** about this. all te lights are incadesent bulbs not leds and i seriously dont know what to do to fix this all i have done is replace wiring harness under te dash. Someone please help. I need to get this thing running by the end of the week i have to go to the city and do some work wit this thing but all in all it runs and im happy about that
Any ideas on the wiring
I talked to a guy on here can't member how long ago I asked about the told me said that any harness from a 92 to a 96 would work. Like I said everything crept half the dash and the lights want to work and all the wiring outside is good the rest is just idk
if it was the wrong harness then nothing would have matched up because when they went to power stroke everything changed. So either im missing a wire somewhere or there is seriously something wrong with this harness. this would be why im on here asking you people about it.
i will print these and study them maybe idk i think i might be missing something but i will definately check and see
and if you can find an actual schematic that would be great i looked at a haynes manual today and that **** didnt help also if you have the link or anything like that to the owners manual that would help too the fuse box under the hood looks like it is missing stuff and idk if they could be the problem too or not
i really can't see how a 96 wiring harness could work in a 93 truck. 96 has a computer for the powerstroke engine, and 93 is an IDI, non computer engine.
all the gauges and senders should be different.
