Hi guys - my 2000 SD has a brake line that rusted through. The one that runs along the drivers side frame rail. So I need to get new line to replace it. Since I am nowhere near my truck right now, does anyone know the size of the steel line? Thanks in advance.
I just did mine this past Saturday. I used 1/4 inch. I had to buy two 6 foot sections to make up the line. It took more time to do the bends then to actually install. I think the line is about 11' 6" so I had to put some 's' turns in the end to use up the space to make it fit. I just didn't want to take the chance of doing my own flares and having it leak. Now if I can just get the thing to stop vibrating so bad when I use the brakes, I will be in good shape.

i will never use steel lines ever ever again.
i replaced the lines in all my vehicles with the copper/nickle alloy lines.
very easy to hand bend, and you do not have to worry about them kinking, or rotting out ever again.
