have some headmen longtube headers i want to install
it looks like one of the bolts on the drivers side is broken off
also the passenger side looks very hard to get to the bolts
all are super rusty
i could goto parts galore and pull some gt40 heads for $36!
how much work is it to pull the heads off?
any idea what size sockets / special tools i will need to bring to the junkyard?
so now i am ****ed
i got all the bolts out of the passager side no problem
the drivers side is different story.
1 bolt broke off at head
the other was missing, already rusted off and broke at head
now i broke off the easy out in the head... ****.
picture is here
(n option to upload to this site?)
So now i guess i have to pull the heads?
The PO of my truck did the same exact thing, to three bolt holes. What worked for me, was to heat the ez out cherry red, then strike it with a punch. I eventually broke it enough to get the pieces out, then carfully drilled out the old bolt, and retapped. I did have one hole though, that I had to use a heli coil in. It's worth a shot...
