370 4v REBUILD
I finally killed the bus motor and need to rebuild it. looking for any tips to increase the mileage and maybe get a little more power! Pretty sure it dropped a valve as its pounding pretty good but still maintaining 50psi oil pressure that and the #8 plug was smashed shut. I realize I am not going to get 10mpg out of it but anything would be better than the 3 I get now. I replaceds the carb a few years ago with a holly 600 and installed dui distributer all in trying to find a no start when hot issue. thanks for any advice!!!

Not really interested in trying to find a different engine if so I would go diesel but to many things to change. The governor was in the old carb unless something else I would need to remove too. The bus does get about 5mpg running 55 3mpg running 65. Was just hoping to get to another mile or two if possible. Will talk to the engine shop and see what he can recommend if anything!!
