Okay so I've a thread about swapping cams and conanski suggested not to but to install 1.7 rockers so that was the plan, until I read on another site that with my truck (1995 f250 5.8L lifted 3" 31" bfg) I won't feel any gains in power. Am I reading into it to much or is there any truth. Any of you who done this and can say yes I've done this and it increased the seat of the
pants feel.
In your other thread you did not ask for getting a seat of the pants feel. You posted a cam choice and Conanski gave you another option. He gave you another option, based on the information you had given him. Had you actually asked for a cam to give a certain effect, he would have recommended one.
Take his advice, or leave it....... he is pro, I would take it.
1.7 rockers will produce just enough of a gain to be noticed.. similar to advancing the timing a few degrees. Of course the idea with rockers is to increase airflow through the motor so highest gains will be with exhaust changes that also increase airflow.

Ford found a 15 hp increase in the 93-95 GT40 5.0 by using the Crane 1.7 pedestal rockers. Whether or not you feel the difference can be debated until the world comes to an end. The gains made come from both the increased lift at the valve (.030 more lift) and the loss of friction by switching to the roller trunion vs the sled fulcrum of the stock stamped rockers. According to Ford, the oil temps made a noticeable drop as well. There is no "down" side to this mod.
Thank you guy's for the reply, I was just worried that I would have spent the money and got nothing out. (meaning either the hp gains or the less friction gains) The other site I read it the post said that there was no benefit to the mod (hp or friction) so was concerned I would have wasted the money. So I'll get the 1.7's and the exhaust.
Any time you can reduce friction in a engine you will have some power gain as the motor isnt work against itself so hard. Oil works to combat the friction but a little help like roller rockers help to extend the life of a motor. Regardless the rollers will help your engine
