I hve two jacks sitting in the garage that either need to go to the scrap yard or get fixed. I tinkered with one a bit, but it made no difference. Anyone know how to get one to work right? They just won't hold pressure - simple 2 ton floor jacks - which really look like bottle jacks stuffed in a frame horizontally. I know I'm not giving much in the way of details, but thought maybe someone would know a trick or something. I opened the port on one that said "don't open" but couldn't figure out what difference it made (I also ripped the tags off my mattress a while back!).

In other words, they are trash! Can you even get into them to change the orings? Is it hard? I've never messed with a jack before. Is it more trouble than it is worth?
They can be rebuilt but it might not be cost effective depending on what the seals cost. They don't use standard orings. They use a seal that seals with pressure. The more pressure the tighter the seal gets.
Kind of what I figured. There's probably no one close by which would mean shipping and then the rebuild costs and I can probably get a new one for the same price or less. Scrap heap!!
