Tranny swap problems!
I am putting a 4-speed (NP435) in place of the C-6. When i went to tighten up the bellhousing to the motor (460) the top two bolts went together like a dream but the bottom four got real tight and wouldn't close the gap between the two pieces. The gap was only about a 1/4 of an inch on each side so i decided to start the engine and see what would happen. I turned the key and the starter couldnt turn the motor over. I tried to manually turn it over at the crank and couldnt budget it. What Gives??? I am in the process of removing the tranny to try again but i was hoping for some tips or solutions to my problem. Any ideas, thoughts, wild/crazy soultions would be greatly appriciated at this point.

NEVER pull the engine and tranny together with the bolts!!!
They should fit together easily and you should be able to turn the bolts all the way in by hand.
Never try to turn the engine over with things bound up and not seated correctly!
