Comparison run on the interstate
Our truck, an '01 F150 SuperCab Lariat 4X4 Off Road 5.4 automatic with front torsion bars up 2", bed cover, WAAG grill gaurd, and Cat back 40 series and dual 3" X 18" tips. 22,250 miles. Two adults on board.
Our friends truck, an '03 F150 XLT SuperCrew 2X4 5.4 auotmatic all stock. tail gate up.12,450 miles. Three adults on board.
The situation, both cruising to the same location for supper together.
They pulled up on us at 75 mph on the interstate. They kept their foot in it so I had to accept the challenge. Both at 75 mph and we put it to the floor. Both trucks pulled DEAD EVEN up to 101 mph as indicated by both speedometers. We were mirror to mirror. At that speed, theirs hit the rev limiter and dropped back quick. Ours pulled on and at 105 I backed off. I never hit the rev limiter up to 105 as indicated. Next time, I will go till it stops just to find out.
It was kind of odd with both trucks pulling so even. We all could feel the speed increase but it didn't seem like it was with us staying even.
Glad we were in an area where they have light patrols........
