Alright so to start this Ive needed calipers since I bought the truck I put new rotors and pads on about 2 years ago. Rotors are still good and now pads are bad. I decided to replace both pads and calipers this weekend. So before I continue on. Ive had the TTB rebuilt, all ball joints U-joints and cardon joints. Its been aligned twice since then which would have been about 1 year ago this October and still has a weird pull to the right. So I bought calipers and pads this weekend and did it myself and what a mess. I didn't realize how much brake fluid gets everywhere when you change brake hoses between calipers. So the job was done I got them on with a little struggle but still bolted them up, bled the brakes and all. Took it for a test drive and it wanted to pull very hard to the right....at one point through my drive I could smell the brakes burning and I knew something wasn't good. I pulled the truck in the garage and that's when smoke started pouring out from the right side. I quickly backed out and the hose was right there so I hosed it down. I jacked it back up after took the tire off and there was no damage and the tire was spinning freely... kind of confused I think the caliper was seized up, produced enough heat to start to burn the brake fluid that was sort of still on the caliper (yes I had wiped them down before I installed them) after it cooled down I took it for a drive and the very hard pull was gone. I still have the slightest pull similar to what it was before. Im thinking possibly the master cylinder needs bleeding or need new tie rods. I would like to see what some people think. I plan on taking it down to our local mechanic to look at it on Monday.
