First of all im not trying to make anyone mad or get some major thing going here but i need to vent..
I was driving home from Madison Wi this morning(in my semi) and i got behind this in a mini van who was afraid to drive threw the constrution areas the speed limit threw these areas is dropped to 55mph but this would slow down to 35 mph!!! then after the con area would speed back up to 65mph would not let me pass and had traffic backed up for almost a mile..now heres my vent
IF your afraid to drive the speed limit threw construction zones GET THE OUT OF THE WAY OF THOSE OF US WHO ARE NOT!!!!!!
I'm glad I don't drive rigs when I see they way some people drive. I drive 7 hours between my hometown and my college in Michigan's UP. Out on the two lane highways, some people crawl through no passing areas. As soon as there is a passing lane or a break in opposing traffic, they speed up. Not everybody, but enough to get on people's nerves. Another thing: I'm sick of people blasting me with their brights at night, instead of just flashing them in an attempt to get me to dim mine. I always dim mine, and even after I flash mine at them to let them know mine are on low beams, they keep their highs on. I can't help it if my truck sits higher than their car.

I think you need to take your signature a bit more seriously.
Although I understand completely, and do agree. I've also been run off the road by semi's who suddenly decide they own the highway and begin driving down the middle of a two-lane highway.
as well my wife got rearended last year by a semi. the guy said she should buy a bigger car, because he couldn't see her.

?? whats wrong with my signiture?? I am proud to be a teamster and sorry but that is my moto for life.
Also a fellow trucker here and I defintly don't agree.
If a person is not comfortable driving the sugested speed through
a constrution I for one would rather have them slowdown till they
are.
I do agree about the not letting a big truck pass them I will never
understand that one especialy when I'm out west in the hill's or
traveling Ontario's 900 miles of 2lane trans Canada.
To quote Truckertaz from one of his own previous posts (towing in the left lane....slowly thread):
"2. if you are in that big of a hurry you should have left sooner!!"
Does this count as an "Gotchya there"? All in jest taz!
I do agree with his point though, if you're holding up traffic, get out of the way! This applies at all times.....no matter who you are, what you're driving, or where.
I guess the point is, the posted speed limit is the maximum, not the minimum. I have to remind myself of this quite often as I get irate when people don't drive the speed limit and hold me and others up.
My last job entailed a lot of driving in city traffic during the day, in Denver. I don't know about many other large cities, but Denver is about the worst place I have ever driven! Lived here this time for over 20 years now, it continues to get worse with time.
Maybe that should be a question for a future thread, "Where's the WORST overall place you have ever driven?" This meaning to combine road conditions, drivers, etc.
i never actually realized how stupid other motorists are until i got my class A license. when driving a 18wheeler you have to pay more attention to the dummies
Trucker Taz, just a suggestion but maybe you could drive for someone that allows their trucks to more than 65mph. At that rate you could have gotten around the 4 wheeler and been on your merry way. Only a suggestion here not an insult.

I always had a vehicle now and then that had 'bright' low beams. I had thought about somehow rigging up a welder with a way to strike an arc on top of the car for those that love to leave their highs on, even tho I showed them my high beams!
And for following or leading rigs, I was with my family in my wife's Toyota Tercel pulling a large U-Haul trailer... Me and this trucker were having a hard time deciding who should be in front going through the hills of Wyoming, because we both had to take a run at the hills; only my vehicle didn't slow up as much going up... I got a good laugh out of it, and I hope he did to!
What can ya do?
