I would like to put a larger fuel tank into my 87 E-150. My van only has one tank installed. Is there a larger Ford tank that I can install without a major hassle?
I see in the J.C. Whitney catalog "Extra-Capacity Replacement Gas Tanks." It shows several for your year Ford:
LWB & Super Van, 43 gal
SWB Van, 38 gal
Mini Motor Home on Van Chassis, 49 gal
Don't know anything about the quality, but they run around $450 for one kit. Supposedly easy install.
Now I am glad I looked this up for you because I would like more than the current 36 gal capacity on my E350 Motorhome, though not sure I like the price.
Thanks for the information. I'm not sure that I'm up for the Whitney price. Someone suggested a Bronco tank might interchange. I would prefer to get a tank from the local Pick and Pull lot.
I know what you mean about that price thing. $450 is really steep. You may get better/more results if you post this in the Fuel Injection, Carburation and Fuel System forum under Misc Conferences.
